I’m writing a story that will probably never be published

snowdarkred:

because it is about a time traveling Victorian steampunk lesbian who is also black. Who travels through various alternate universes hitting on girls, accompanied by her future/past/present/eternal lover from a modern alternative world that the reader isn’t supposed to realize is actually not ours until a certain moment.

The only thing is that I can’t decide if this should be in the first person or not.

I sent Anna the intro in 1st, but…

IDK. I’m not usually a first person kind of writer?

A) THAT SOUNDS AMAZING and

B) Write in whatever POV feels most natural to you? Like, maybe the intro wants to be in first person but the rest doesn’t; maybe the intro feels like it wants to be in first right now but it won’t when you’re done; maybe the whole thing wants to be in first person and always will. But you can always change things in edits, that is what they are for! Just write what flows, it’s only round one, you got all the time in the world <3
