That is, in fact, the ONE way you can really, properly get me angry. I DO NOT WANT YOU GUYS TO SEND PEOPLE HATE ON MY BEHALF. FOR ANY REASON. EVER.
We have to be able to talk about things that are problematic or upsetting without doing this to each other, you guys. The fact that we cannot have a discussion on a sensitive topic without this being the result is really staggeringly discouraging and so, so counterproductive. It is important to be able to talk to each other about things that have dangerous or problematic implications; the way to respond to those discussions is not to do things that have dangerous or problematic implications.
At the other end of every handle is a living, breathing human being. I know I say this a lot, but it does not stop being true. The words that you send them have weight; they are not messages into the void. If you would like to express a rant about someone, you may always feel free to leave it in my askbox; I will read it, you will get to feel heard, and no one will be hurt in the process.
To repeat: PLEASE. DO NOT. SEND PEOPLE HATE. ON MY BEHALF. That is not the message I want to send, ever, and it’s not a message I want anyone sending for me. Thank you.
